Interviews 10th June 2013 Job Description JOB TITLE: Project Manager PROJECT: Carers’ Support Service AREA COVERED: Somerset JOB LOCATION: Taunton RESPONSIBLE TO: Service Manager Objective To ensure the effective implementation and operation of the Carers’ Support Service in order to meet the 5 strategic outcomes in the National Carers’ Strategy To ensure that the Carers’ Support Service is delivered in line with tender specifications, our quality manual and the wants and needs of service users. Main Duties 1. To have a detailed understanding of the Carers’ Support Service Specification and the 5 strategic outcomes in the National Carers’ Strategy. 2. To ensure that the project is delivered in order to meet the Equalities Act and be appropriate to people’s diverse needs, including their disability, race, culture, religion, sexuality, age and gender. The service shall also recognise that individuals change over time and respond accordingly. 3. To work with the Carers led Steering Group to develop, implement and review the project work plan. 4. To deliver the agreed performance, maintaining statistics and appropriate reports in order to benchmark and evaluate performance against criteria. This will include statistical returns, including information supplied by GP Federation areas. 5. To participate in the development of the organisation’s Business Plan with specific responsibility for ensuring that the wants and needs of carers and the Carers’ Support Service are considered and given due reference. 6. To ensure effective communication between the Carers Led Steering Group, the Service Manager, representatives of Somerset County Council and NHS Somerset and the GP Federations. 7. To ensure that service users are fully involved in the development of project activities through the implementation of a user involvement strategy. 8. To oversee the implementation and development of Charity log, the online customer management system in relation to carers services. 9. To ensure that relevant agencies and individuals are engaged with the project, signposting or referral pathways are agreed and implemented and a communication strategy developed to ensure that all agencies can work together to deliver the strategic outcomes of the National Carers’ Strategy. 10. Maintain effective and co-operative working relationships with relevant bodies and be actively involved in partnership/project meetings and to produce detailed minutes/reports as appropriate. 11. To manage a grant award system to offer small awards to local groups who are able to develop local sustainable initiatives that support carers in their area. 12. To maintain effective communication channels to ensure that all staff and volunteers are kept informed about all things that affect their ability to perform within the project and to maintain a sense of belonging and worth within the team. 13.
