Tate Catering – Back of House Technical Porter : Central London

Tate Catering has an exciting opporunity to join the Catering Events team. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Senior Back of House Porter with all back of house operations of event planning and running, including the supervision of bank staff. Key Responsibilities • Working under the direction of the Senior Back of House Technical Porter on the delivery of all back of house events – including breakfasts, lunches, tea/coffee & biscuits, refreshments for meetings, dinners and receptions. • Ensure all Health and Hygiene rules are being adhered to, including wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment and attend any training courses appropriate to your role with Tate Catering, • Working independently and without supervision you are responsible for the preparation of all equipment and stock transfers relating to events, the preparation of consumption sheets and passing all information to Assistant Operations Managers. • Responsible for monthly inventory of all equipment. Hired equipment must be checked and counted back and left in the loading bay areas unless otherwise stated. • Assist with overseeing the beverage cellar as well as doing weekly stock takes. • Responsible for events equipment being stored, transported, set up and cleared down, including regular stock takes. Ensure all areas are checked at the end of the night and that loading bays are clean and rubbish is disposed of correctly. • To regularly update the Assistant Operations Manager on the progress of event planning and de-brief after each event. • Oversee all deliveries and ensure they are stored in the correct areas and all delivery notes are kept. •Pro-actively suggest alternatives to improve methods and resources of Tate Entertaining planning Driving Duties: • A clean and full driving license must be held at all times. Any driving endorsements must be reported to the Deputy General Manager Immediately. • Ensure Tate Entertaining’s vechiles are road safe and driven safely, adhering to all traffic laws. All damages to vehicles must be reported to the Assistant Operations Manager on duty immediately. • Keep a record of mileage and petrol receipts General • To help review, implement and manage systems and methods involved in the organising of events with an eye to improving the efficiency, style and success of all Tate Entertaining events. • To undertake other tasks and duties as may reasonably be requested by Management and deputise as appropriately when requested. • As part of the Tate Entertaining team you will work to ensure it’s continued success and growth. You will be required to be available to work flexible hours including some early mornings (6.30am start time).
