Senior Support Workers required for Brookdale Care’s specialist Mental Health Hospital based in Wyboston, Bedfordshire. Brookdale Care is a specialist care service for people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading organising providing full and on-going training and offering excellent career development. Post Title: ASC Practitioner Location: Milton Park Hospital, Wyboston Hours: 150 hours per 4 week period, including weekends Shift work on a rota basis, to include day and night shifts Salary: £9.50 ph rising to £9.91 ph following a successful probation Education, Experience & Attributes: • Health & Social care qualifications is desirable (i.e. NVQ 2, 3) • Experienced in a Senior Support Worker Role • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral • Desire to learn and develop • Computer literate • Understanding of ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) • Good time management and priority setting ability • Effective delegations skills Objectives of the role: • To work with the Clinical and Multi-disciplinary teams to provide a high quality services to patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and LD at Milton Park. • To provide a standard of care to patients, under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner and the Unit Manager in accordance with the Department of Health Guidelines and Brookdale Care policies and procedures. • To ensure a healthy, safe and hygienic therapeutic environment to meet the specific needs of people with ASC at Milton Park at all times. • To be able to confidently demonstrate and apply in your work to your patients the Patients Charter, Human Rights and the Mental Health Act and show how this underpins your delivery of care. • To promote teamwork and effectively mentor / support established Link Workers, new starters and agency staff.
