Talented Head Chef & Sous Chef required for one of the New Forest’s most talked about restaurants, The Station House at Holmsley. These positions will be highly sought after, with the business receiving great reviews and pushing its food in an exciting, new direction. Situated in the heart of the forest in a stunning location, we have a passion for the ingredients available locally and the producers who provide it. This is reflected in the outstanding, yet accessible dishes on our menu. You will be responsible for the running of the kitchen and must have a flexible, professional and calm manner. You must have extensive management experience at head chef level, able to motivate and develop a team capable of delivering a very high quality product while also maximising covers. The Station House can get very busy, very quickly, and in the height of summer easily produce well over 200 covers on a single service to a very high quality. We’re a daytime only operation, with brunch served from 10am, lunch from midday and afternoon tea from 2.00pm. A gastro cooking background, with flair and imagination is essential. The ability to be able organise and plan is key to being able to consistently increase food sales. For the Head Chef position, responsibilities include all recruitment, full financial reporting and working with the owners to develop the menus. The use of local suppliers is paramount, as is the ability to source the best products for the keenest prices. The Sous Chef role is one of running the kitchen in the head chef’s absence, assisting with the planning & design of menus, sourcing of ingredients. We aim to achieve an AA rosette in the coming months and with your help, experience and creativity, we know great things could happen.
